100 Gallon Fabric Pots from Smart Pot, Gro Pro, Root Pot and Dirt Pot

Smart Pots are eco-friendly and effective fabric pots. These soft growing containers are more productive than plastic pots because they allow air to reach the soil and roots, improving drainage and keeping the root system from overheating on hot days. Smart Pot’s design also allows the air to prune the plant root structure and prevents plants from becoming root-bound! These pots are available in black and tan. The dimensions of these 100 Gallon containers are 38” W x 20” Tall. Therefore, these pots will hold approximately 13.1 cubic feet of soil.

Gro Pro currently offers three different variations of 100 gallon fabric pots. These models include the round models, tan and black as well as a square version which only available in black. Round 100 gallon dimensions are 38”W x 20”H and the square pots has dimension of 24”x24”x16”H. The round 100 gallon pots will hold approximately 13.1 cubic feet of soil. Under normal growing conditions these Gro Pro pots are expected to last between 5 and 7 years.

Hydrofarm’s Dirt Pots are made from a porous breathable fabric that allows your plants to thrive by promoting exceptional root health and vigorous plant growth. The soft-sided construction allows the planter to conform to your terrain, making it the perfect choice for all growing areas. They have superior drainage and aeration. These Dirt Pots come in black and tan. The handles provide strength, stability and convenience. They are non-degradable, so they will hold up for multiple growing seasons. The dimensions of these 100 gallon Dirt Pots are 38″ Wide x 20″ Tall and will hold approximately 13.1 cubic feet of soil.

Root pots are made of a biodegradable material that helps facilitate airflow and promote healthy root growth. These pots will break down after multiple seasons of use, approximately three to five years. However, they are strong enough to withstand winds, work great with drip lines and within hydroponic systems. The dimensions of this 100 Gallon container is 38”W x 20”H. This size pot will hold approximately 13.1 cubic feet of soil.

Ok here is the setup.

Ten 100 gallon Smart Pots filled with 9 bags of Roots Organic soil each. Will be using Advanced Nutrients A&B for veg and bloom along with some Organic teas all fed on drip lines for really good deep soaks.

I am growing mostly Blue Dream. A couple Cheese. A Lemon Thai Skunk and a couple Agent Oranges. Also have a Pot of Gold in a 45 gallon Smart. Also have a Salmon Creek Big Bud going into a 65 gallon Smart but it is only about 1 foot tall and was being trained to be a mother so it is already a nice round little bush with thick stem and in a well rooted 2 gallon.

I put the Blue Dreams out about 3 weeks ago and they were 3-4 feet tall. I had them in 7 gallon containers under a 1000 watt. They were on a 17/7 light schedule. The Blue Dreams have really started taking off I’d say about 5 feet tall on most of them already.

We are inn Central Cal near the coast and it gets hot here. Normal summer day is 80-85. Not uncommon to get in the 90s many days in a row and 100s in a heat wave. Hit 110 here last year.

They are pretty well spaced. They are staggered and a good 6-7 feet apart.

Plants usually switch around mid August here. They are getting a solid 7-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. They get full sun at about 10:30 until 6:30-7:00.

So what kind of yield do you think I’ll get out of these suckers? How big do you think they will get? Any suggestions or advise? Never done large pots like this before.

I could post pics of the setup if anyone really wants to see.

This is the better shot of ma few of them. These are all Blue Dream. That bamboo stick is 10 feet tall ! They seem to be about 5 feet above the pot level.

Over head shot of Blue Dream (left) Lemon Thai far right. All about 4 feet tall.
