I think your gonna need a bigger screen. Scrogging outside is a little difficult when Mother nature decides when to flip the switch for the girls. By the time I filled my 5 X 5 screen last year in mid august the strain didn’t start to Flower til mid September. I filled a whole nother screen and then had to trellis the top to hold the colas up.

That’s just Ag trellis holding the buds from falling over. You can’t see it but it is Scrogged thru what I think is 2 X 4 hog wire fence on the second screen . The first screen I scrogged thru I made the mistake of tucking thru nylon or plastic fencing. The plant is so strong it started to bow up the fence and rip the staples out. Use wire fencing and u nails. If you mean by lollipopping which it really isn’t in this case , I trimmed out the lowers when all daylight was cut out. You keep tucking to fill your screen and try to time it right so your screen is full and just a couple of inches of the tops are out of the screen when the stretch starts . The fine line to walk for bigger colas is to get enough length of the tops out before the stretch to get long colas but not turn back into a bush. The screen was dropped on top around the end of June first of july and was 4 ft tall.

You can see the work screen here:

getting close. I think I harvested her a week before Christmas.

Thank you SBW ! it was a lot of fun and even more work. The strain was Drizella from Dynasty.
I think we will be scrogging Cherry pie this year.

I have a cherry pie this year too.
it’s a 9-10 week strain.
are you worried about over filling the scrog again?

I made a screen for two of my 18 gallon plants this season.but I’m having a bitch of a time keeping the legs unwonkey. and keeping it upright.
it’s 4′ x 10′ made from bamboo poles and the same “screen” you used.
We get coastal winds here and I see this ending badly. any ideas?

also is your trellis 4″ x 4″ or 6″ x 6″ so I have better scale.
A Class, Number One work, my friend. you have much to be proud of!

Like most folks in the city I have fence height restrictions or dangers I should say. As I mentioned out door scrogging is kinda a little hard to time right . Im starting two weeks later than I did last year and the plants in the tent are on 15 hrs of light trying to keep them small. Over filling the screen isn’t that bad, just drop another screen on it if ya have to but topping and weaving are your friends.

maybe you can bury your legs in the dirt or run cross stays to help . build your table with 2×2’s and 2×3’s. sometimes you have to tie or weight the table to the ground cause the plant will lift it. That was 6×6 trellis. And boy oh boy , Cherry pie has some stretch to her. I think it will be a good scrogging strain because it needs to be cohursed to branch out and the stretch will help .

Whats up everybody, hey so I have never used the scrog grow setup before but I am doing it this year mainly just to contain my plants in one area during…

Growing Some Monsters (outdoor Scrog)

Greatlakes

trying out this yr. Mostly from bomb seeds a few from DNA and 1 from hso

I am growing in 100% amended composted manure. No dirt at all just 400 gallons of cow poo lol.

I also did my own boxes using window screen for the sides for better air and drainage.

Here are a few pics of the journey.

Awesome! They’re loving that poo for sure!

What did you amend the manure with? Did you amend while fresh, or after composting?

I’ve got access to some grade A poo, so was considering starting a pile for compost this fall. Thanks!

I used espoma garden tone and happy frog bulb food.
I also feed it silica regularly since it is not dirt I feel that it does well for the plants.

Thanks so much for checking out my grow 🙂

Don’t really have to deal with too many bad pests here other then slugs.
Tho thanks to the info my mom taught me years ago. slugs can not resist beer (we have that in common)

This is how many slugs I got in 8 hours.
They died happy

Horse poo does work but has a lot more weed seeds in it then cow.
I don’t mind seeds myself because it helps camo my boxes a little (tho I’m quite aware that they stick out) however I’m not in a legal state lol.
The poo was aged 5 yrs and the plants were germinated Feb 1st and transplanted into the boxes around may 20th.

I wish more people would give farm poo a try because the growth is insane 😉

Coming to the party late. Got some decent genetics im trying out this yr. Mostly from bomb seeds a few from DNA and 1 from hso I am growing in 100%…
